CASABLANCA LOFTS

This project consisted of both new masonry work and masonry renovation of the existing facade. The new masonry consisted of a one story addition to the existing 3 story building and also miscellaneous interior work including including elevator and stair shafts. The renovation included lintel replacement, limestone repair, and brick repair.

NEW RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS

S&S Contractors, Inc. has built several homes in the Chicagoland and surrounding suburbs. From masonry veneer over wood framed homes to full composite wall masonry homes with wood truss floors (common in Chicago), we are your masonry contractor.

SKYTECH LOFTS

This building was a new condominium building located near Ashland and Madison in Chicago, IL. The masonry consisted of block work in the interior, with a brick and limestone facade over the concrete structure.

PARAMOUNT LOFTS

The project consisted of renovating the existing five story building and also building a two story addition. The masonry work consisted of the limestone renovation, brick renovation, and parapet renovation at the exterior. The interior work included several masonry partition walls.

CENTRAL PARK LOFTS

The project consisted of a complete demolition of the interior. The exterior fa├žade required repair of the masonry and terra cotta. The masonry facade was significantly damaged with heavy deterioration of the masonry and terra cotta. The parapet was leaning with significant damage and was also in need of repair. The majority of the facade and parapet were rebuilt. Additionally, a new brick veneer was added over the existing common brick at the rear of the building.

PARK 1500 LOFTS

The project consisted of renovating an existing common brick building once used for manufacturing to condominiums. A two story addition consisted of block and brick cavity walls. This building is adjacent to the Skytech Lofts Project shown above.

Vietnam Veteran’s Museum

The project consisted of general facade improvements including tuckpointing and a rebuild of the 1st story facade.

VANGUARD LOFTS

The project consisted of S&S Contractors, Inc. doing the demolition on the project. The demo included removal of the existing north elevation to be replaced with a glass facade (see pictures). The demo also included saw cutting large openings in the existing concrete slabs. S&S was also the mason contractor on the project, responsible for all new masonry and repairs.
